Although the ASME and NBIC codes are national standards, it is up to each state to pass laws for the requirements for pressure vessels and boilers in that state. As such, each state has different regulations for what codes apply to different types of equipment, and different laws for registration and inspection requirements. In addition, the state NBIC authority has the final approval on any plans for repairs or alterations taking place on pressure equipment in that state. State and local regulations should always be checked for new fabrication or any planned repair work. Contact us if you have any questions about pressure equipment codes and standards.
